Hi Vinnie,

Being able to upload pics might be useful to some but how about being able to easily view the pictures (or other items) that you want to see on the site?

This requires a decent search facility for the whole site which is sadly lacking at present.  I wanted to search for articles and Gallery pictures of model lifeboats and when I typed in "lifeboats" in the forum search, the only thing it came up with was "start a new thread"!  Now I know that there are dozens of pictures and forum items on lifeboats so why was I not able to get sensible results?  Without spending hours searching for the many references how are we supposed to find something specific?

Otherwise the site is great.

If you’re suggesting I go through every picture every user uploads and catagorises them, you’re on to a loser.  The gallery consists of images uploaded by users, so any seach facilty is dependent on the attributes given them by the user that uploads them.  In most cases this consists of just a filename.  It’s the same for this type of gallery on every site, on any subject.  As for the articles, the search facility works, but again is dependent on what parameters you, the user, inputs.  As yet the material on site is limited to the few articles that are republished from the magazine.  Again, further original content is down to you, the user.  If it ain’t coming up on the search, it ain’t here.
