Hi All,

Well the time has come to part with MS Oldenburg to fund more toys, as we discussed prices and selling models recently I thought I’d update you with my progress so far , As presentation is key I feel, I have made a bespoke oak stand for her and had a name plate engraved, with two options and prices :-  1 as a static model 2 as a fully operational RC model.

I will let you know how it goes 🙂

Dam, that’s annoying!  I have only just realised that I’ve been logged out for a couple of days and so not seen any updates during that time.  I would have bought the Oldenburg in a heartbeat for a very good friend of mine who went on her recently and couldn’t stop talking about her.

Hi All,

She is going to the Landmark Trust who own Lundy Island and MS Oldenburg, to that end I’m off to Bideford on Wednesday to deliver her to her new owners as a static display model 🙂

Nice little drive from Maidstone , as part of the deal.

Ray, now youve got some extra space, would you like a set of plans for the Lundy Gannet, the islands supply boat before the Oldenburg and the red one I cant think of the name of at the moment.

Tongue in cheek, the plan appeared in a French model magazine a while ago so the instructions are a bit hard to follow.

Twas hardly a ship Ray, just a trawler but you are welcome to the French model magazine, I just need a postal address.

I also have a litho? plate for a postcard with the Gannet on and also the Polar Bear. I’ll see it I can lift a print from it.

If you pm me an address I’ll put the magazine in the post.

Having just dug out the magazine & the litho plate they are clearly not the same vessel, why on earth the French/Belgians had a trawler called Lundy Gannet I have no idea.

Hi Stephen,

The drop off of Oldenburg went well at Bideford on Wednesday to The Landmark Trust , a lovely place I’d not been to before, then off to spend the night at Ilfracombe and home yesterday, I saw picture a picture of Polar Bear as you say a trawler which has sadly sunk out in the Caribbean now. I will email you for the picture of the Gannet.
