I have a 4 channel Absima Tx and Rx, together with a Mtroniks 15 and Futaba servos for rudder and other ancillaries. These all work satisfactory apart from obtaining reverse on the throttle. I have gone thru’ the set-up a number of times but to no avail. Can anyone advise me where I could be going wrong.

      Many thanks

        Dear Cambell,

If your unit has a red button that must be pressed during set up then you might be out of luck.  I had one of these older units (about 10 years old) and had exactly the same problem.  Eventually binned it and bought a new Mtronics 15 unit that sets itself up without any red button.  It worked without a problem.

As Len says, sometimes these Mtronics ESCs can fail. I have experienced this. If it is a recent purchase then send it back for  checking out. They are good with aftersales I am told.

Many thanks for your help and advice. Yes, it does have the ubiquitous red button therefore I will order a new model/version and look forward to a successful result.

Assuming your transmitter channel is set to.mid point, the esc should automatically have reverse…you don’t have yo do anything else.

I have found that reverse disappearing is a fault and a new one is tne only answer.

Mtroniks have rightly an excellent reputation for customer support and are always worth a phone call.  They will help you in any way they can and give to the best advice.  As Ashley says the newer type do not need a button to be pressed to set up, whereas the older versions were fitted with a small button that was pressed during set up.

With the older versions you pressed the button during the first couple of seconds after powering up and then followed the process of moving the stick up, press the button, down, press the button and then centralise.  If it doesn’t respond then maybe a new one is the best option.  I take it your transmitter lever does return to the central position by spring and it has never been used to control a sail?
