I've recently acquired a 1/10 th scale model of the new Shannon class lifeboat that I intend to scratch build. I'd like to make it with twin water jets, the same as the life sized boats but I'm unsure on what setup would be best. I'd really appreciate it if anyone could suggest a full setup that would work and get the boat planing.

the boat is 1300mm long, I'm unsure f the weight but at a guess it will be around 10-15 kgs when finished.

I'd appreciate any replies and will be sincerely grateful

      thanks

hi Stewart , Please read new post by Paul Freshney ref. Manfred Sievers ,there is a link there which will take you to a site in

Germany which has a likely unit which may help . they have a water jet which should do a job for you but watch the price. 195 Euros

          good luck Michaelwink

I've heard good things about these but have no personal experience of them.

Brushless motors might be better than the old brushed ones recommended and supplied in the sets.

              Stewart,

I've got a pair of the KMB 28 jets complete with reverse bucket to use on a Shannon. I'll use suitable replacement brushless motors for the 700 brushed motor, and a pair of Li-Pos suitable to those replacements. I'm waiting for the hulls to become available.

Where, may I enquire, did you get a Shannon LB ? You say you've got a 1/10 model but then you state you will scratch build?

Thank you very much for all of your replies, they're much appreciated. I think I'm going to go with a pair of the units suggested and see how it goes from there.

i say I'm going to scratch build it because I have only the mouldings, not a kit.

                Kimmosubby, I've messages you

                thanks again, stewart
