If the words "power" and "speed" appear together on the makers nameplate, I would take that as a clue. You can get further clues by holding the shaft and rotating the can a full circle, counting the number of notchy feelings you get. Divide by 2, when you get 3 as the answer, it is probably a fast one. If you can see the windings through the vent holes, if the wire looks like hair, that is a low current motor, if its like baling wire, another sign of a high power high current device.
