          Hi Matt

The easiest and safest way is to use a charger recommended by the battery manufacturer. Have a quick goooogle at their website and see if anything is said.

On the other hand, if you are a 'cheapie chappie', there are no end of iMax B6 clones on ebay. Lots of features and they cost about £12 – 15 there. I've used one for years, found it works well, and haven't blown anything up.

            Yet.

(Note: Claimed lack of explosive tendency only refers to battery charging actions conducted with the iMax. It does not cover any other electrical or chemical activity.)

Would always charge a lipo in a charge bag for safety reasons . There are so many chargers out there !

                  Hi Matt

You know what its like trying to get the right spare parts for the local authority equipment that you maintain. Nearly right just doesn't work no matter how cheap the part is.

Which lipo battery have you bought?

Hobbyking do a turnigy charger for £16 too, does lips and all the other types as well. Seems good value.

I think that it's rather wide of the mark to 'recommend' something unless you actually have used one. I have used the Accucel charger for LiPo packs on the Component Shop website and it's very good. Shame they have no stock at present, but that in itself should indicate something positive.

You can get the same charger from eBay too , £28 I believe, HK is cheaper but with postage wouldn't be far from the eBay price .

                            Matt

Not being proficient in the use of lipo batteries I would recommend that a telephone call to Hobbyking customer services as the best way to locate a compatible charger, this method has the added benefit of if something goes wrong you can take it back to the supplier.

Cheap isn't necessarily value for money.

                                Hi Matt

Sounds ok to me but I don't know much about this new fangled electricky as I'm more of a petrol head. I imagine that if you buy from a reputable source then there should be less chance of buying a cheaply made copy.

You get what you pay for……Buy cheap and buy twice….and all of the other smart ar–d comments.

Be nice to see how would you fit a petrol engine in a boat like this

Never seen close up how engines are fitted and they seem a lot of money .
