Well after being sat around on the bench for a while ( the canal boat not me) I finally got her into the the bath and got her bottom wet.
Had to wait for Domestic High Command to be out of the way to run the rainwater tank hose into the upstairs bathroom (i’m on a water meter).
Anyway the good news is she floated at the water line with a slight bow up attitude, shuffling the 12v 7amp hr battery towards the bow meant I could adjust the attitude of the hull. She was quite stable and looked the part.
One joint had a slight leak which was fiixed with two part resin.
I wired the battery direct to the 555 motor and flashed it on and off a few times. The 7.5 amp fuse held OK. Not very scientific I know but at least I feel confident enough to wire in the Viper 15 marine unit.
So its just getting some bullet connectors this week and weather permiting she will be officially launched this weekend, probably in the Leeds / Liverpool canal as is befitting of a canal boat. Pictures will be taken to celebrate the launch of my first RC boat
