Thanks chaps, still stuff to do before the bottom wetting ceremony but it stopped me going stir crazy during lockdown.

Where it’s going to live in the garage is still an issue, must build smaller boats!

Whizzed the Mintanic and wasp around with Trevor Tuesday afternoon, very nice and not too hot.

Unlike Weds afternoon when a socially distanced outdoor meting was had under the gazebo (assisted by some cool…refreshment….) and matters of importance were mulled over.

LIKE the wobbly bits on the Iti racer which were not that bad and eminently fixable, and the Jetex plan of a Saro SR1amphibious fighter.

This has been on my wish list for ages, and I now have a ridiculously powerful 64mm edf spare, but the practicalities are perhaps not insurmountable, but difficult without building one as if you were building one to fly properly with loads of games and stuff (which I don’t do).

i will think on it.

Finally got around to re motoring my Woody boat after a year of braking Lego teknic gears, they held up surprisingly well but the plastic teeth did shear off occasionally and not always on the same gear, which was strange?

Now we have a good old Mecano brass gear set, some I already had and some tracked down on E bay for a reasonable amount. Hopefully this will be a bit more reliable.

Richard. It looks like the steam engine has been taken out now!

Ingenious, and its actually clearer to see in the photos rather than peering in at the pond side.

Hopefully your reliability issues will have been solved with the brass gears.

Batteries charged everything checked. Off to winscar for some sailing. I forgot to take notice of the winds. The waves were about 18”. The wind, well you could have had a stamp for a sail cloth.

no sailing today. Only fit for submarines and I did not want my yacht to become one. LOL

18 inch waves!!! wowser! Rather windy over the pond but waces nothing like that!!

Mintanic ok in the wind, considering the unsophisticated design. Some water on tiller flat but not that much, and none IN the hull.

Richard and Trevor braving the wind with Woody (only just coping with the wind due to the re-gearing!) and templar ship, and Wasp cat respectively.

I think our waves were about 8mm but when it blows hard it comes from all directions at once, due to the trees I think?

Woody went well if a bit rock and roll in the wind but the original standard 380 was not quite fast enough. He’s now sporting a 380s which seems to have give him a bit more spunk. This conversion has been on the cards for a year and it took a pandemic for me to get round to doing it! Sad init!

The Templar ship still surprises me as it handled the scale storm force wind very well and was scooting across the pond like a good un. For a boat that nearly ended up as a window ornament it’s one of my favourites and sails in any sort of wind, divine intervention?

Nice to have a chat with Ashley and Trevor (who still can’t find his razor!) today, the Mintanic is very smart and with interchangeable decks cleaver too, it certainly drew a crowd today, at a distance of course!

Arr. Trying for Sunday morning as Trevor wants to test the Iti racer.

It has progressed to the point where some testing has to be done to suss out how well it works and what mods are needed. I was going to say "if any" but there are bound to be some tweaks needed with something like this.

We met on Wednesday and discussed ….stuff…. and conversation turned to the Swordfish, performance thereof, with the brushed EDF. Trevor has a dinky little Blue….

…EDF… 45mm, and you can get 30mm ones for increased oomph. Shall I?? shan`t I??? Hmmmm

Sunday will be Swordfish if its really nice as I could do with some snaps, if not, then the Jet lander.

Bushy park news….park will be open for cars on Monday 14th, but only weekdays…deep joy!
