THE VOYAGE IS DONE & THE WINDS DON’T BLOW
By Robert A. Wilson (Myself).
Some of you will be aware that in December 2011, I published the above named book that covers the transition from sail to steam between the years 1840 to 1939!
It is quite comprehensive and is illustrated by 94 illustrations, mainly photographs, many in colour. The book is now almost sold out with only 7 copies left! A fair amount of the photographs are of ship models.
I have been experimenting with sending it as a PDF file suitable for Acrobat Reader (Installed in most computers). The complete book is 45.6 mb. As an experiment, I will be happy to send it FREE OF CHARGE to the first few who request it.
The persons wishing to receive it will need to send me their e-mail address via PM and have a broadband connection. Experimenting sending it to myself, it takes about one minute to download!
After I send the file, the recipient will receive an e-mail from “WE TRANFER” with the download link. I suggest that a suitable place, such as desktop, is selected via browse, so that you will be able to find it easily on your computer.
The whole book is on it, including the photographs and drawings. (144 pages) I realise that to print it out would cost a fortune in ink, but at least you will be able to read it on the screen.
Reading it, you will find out what life was like at sea in both sailing ships and steamships between about 1840 and 1939!
Best wishes
Bob
