Hi
I was wondering if somone can help me out here. I am now in the final stages of building a scratch built model of Celia Jane of which I must say is looking very good considering this is only my second scratch build.
I bought myself a sawing machine and made patterns from the masts so these fit fairly well. I wanted to keep the look as they are made from canvers so I made them from furniture covering cloth and dyed them in a red dye first leave to dry then dye again in brown. Doing this I found the the sails had an old weather look about them.
Now comes the crunch!! working from the plans to see where the riging goes has been very hard as they do not show if there is a differance for setting from one side of the vessel to the other also the lines are not showing full lengths to see where they need to be attached to the hull. Obversley the plans are a copy from Nexus when I orded them from the UK. I have also tried to look at books and even zoom in on other members photos in the magazine but to no avail. I was hopeing somone out there could give me some help or direction as to what I can do here. There is also one thing. I live in New Zealand so infomation of any sort is very very rear and hard to find here so most of my reserch has had to be via the internet.
I look forward to any help on this topic.
Neil Winfield.
