It is with great sadness that I have to announce the death of Stewart (AKA Scoop), who passed away with his family beside him on the 2nd September. Stewart had successfully battled illness for sometime now, but there had recently been a number of setbacks.

Stewart was co-founder of BMPRS (British Model PowerBoat Racing Society) and he worked tirelessly to promote that organisation, and the hobby, that raced offshore style model i.c. boats in the Midlands of the UK.

He wrote regularly for Model Boats and indeed the BMPRS report in the forthcoming November issue is the second from last that he has penned.

He was extremely conscientious and efficient in his work for MB and the BMPRS, and will be sadly missed by his fellow enthusiasts in offshore model power boat racing and the hobby as a whole.

On behalf of the readers of Model Boats, I extend our heartfelt sympathy to his wife Jackie and family at this sad time.

I have been away for a few days with poor internet access.

I was very sorry indeed to hear the sad news about Stewart. He was very much dedicated to his area of model boating and will be greatly missed. His reports in Model Boats on the 'big boat' racing scene were a great advert for that branch of our hobby and I hope that someone else will be able to carry on the good work.

I understand that Stewart had been undergoing treatment for some time with good prospects for a recovery so it is very sad to hear that this was not to be. My sincere condolences to his family.
