      Hi all new tio this forum – I have been a modeller all my adult life – My mosel boats have all been scalew sailing boats to date but I own and operate two live steam locos that I bought and didnt build muself .

      In the laast few days a chain of events just kind of happend – I bought a Mountfleet Boston typoon and 4 days ;ater wasa offed a Stewart Soirus live steam motor that I bought – I have never run live steam in a mosel boat – I live in South africa where theres no shops that stock mosel boat equipment .

          I need some adise on a few things all adicice apreciated – –

          The kit comes with a white metal cast prop that I dont want to use any ideas of what sort and size of prop I should buy and where I can get it ?

          The motor doesnt have a reversing unit or trotle the any ideas ?

          And now the big thing I need help with the bouler that came with motor is way to big to fit in the ship – boilers arnt available here off the shelf and Ill have to have one made – Does any one have design drawings for a smal horizontal boiler I could use to have one made up ?

          I m sure ill hit other snags as the build goes on but by joining a forum like this I hope to get ideas and advice –

          I dont know of any live steam mosdel boat opering in South Africa so cant get advice here /.

            Me again one other question looking at the info on the sirius on the net it seems to be a high reving motor should I gear it down to the prop ?

              try "Prop shop" here…..but make sure you buy a 4 bladed ptopell…the Boston typhon, and all fleetwood ( and probably all british steam and p motor trawlers for that matter) were ALL fitted with 4 blade props which gave them much greater torque and pulling power.

              try these…not cheap but beautifully made **LINK**

                tumblerreverse_zps69d853c3.jpgHi Doug, Here is a picture of a simple made reversing gear which may suit your model boat. It`s a cheaper option and is easily manufactured. As you can see I`m not up to speed yet posting pictures,
