Spektrum dx6i

I have a spektrum dx6i would it be feasible to use this on boats . In future will want to use pumps for water monitors and sound devices etc .

It's got a memory mode for different models . Seems a shame to have lots of different rx laying about when can set up for different models and just buy more rx's with amount of channels needed .
