Hi All , I am looking for a engine sound effect unit that as a (tick over) effect for when the model is stationary and also raise and fall as the model moves. I have looked at plenty but they only respond to the current going to the ESC so they do not have tick over . The unit also needs to be compatable with the Action 15 watt ampfifier , BTW the boat is a large Perkasa.

            Hi Dave

This link is to the ACTion p100 sound unit which I think is the best sound unit. It meets all of your criteria and doesn't fade away when working hard.

Expensive but you get what you pay for and this unit is the mutts nuts.

It's difficult to see if the P100 can be set up to run a tickover sound when the ESC is off.

If it does not, another option might be to set up two sound systems, one only running a continuous 'tickover'. When the boat is normally running the main sound will drown out the low tickover – when the boat comes to a halt and the main engine sound stops you will hear the quieter tickover sound…

Yes, it does – by default.

Thanks Lads , Bob pic on there way soon but you can look at my gallery for early pics , Dave with the p100 does this mean that when the boat is still i will still get a low rev effect, if so that the one for me . Dodgy that was my only idea to get over this but Daves P100 sounds the trick .

                    Best Regards Dave yes

(Assumes Blackadder to Baldric voice) "Yes – it DOES!"

If you want to "tune" the tickover rate then I'd recommend buying the CD-ROM that goes with it. For the huge sum of Five English Pounds you get the whole sound library; the User Utility which enables you to load the sound sets, single library sounds and anything else you invent yourself, and a freeware audio editing program to help you do just that. Oh – and you also get a USB lead.

AND the instructions are in English!

I rest my case, Your Honour.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the p100 unit as it does 'exactly what it says on the can' and the CD-ROM is a must have addition.
