      Hi

I hope you don't mind me joining the forum solely to help me identify a pair of hulls I rescued from local recycling centre.

I have exhausted all my options and have come up with nothing! they were clearly being scratch built rather than anything from billing, deans etc

I've attached some photo's to see if you can help with the boat identification even down to a class or type especially the scottish trawler? (that's the closest i've been able to see looking like the hull).

The motor boat/ pleasure craft thing I will in all honesty just put on ebay it's got a Graupner 600Motor, propshaft and screw fitted and the rudder/tiller just requires pushrods and RC fitting….some refinement to the exisiting scratch build and I would imagine it's a fun little beginner boat…Motor boat is 33"

However, it's the other one which I'm really interested in, I was going to make myself a wooden Star 45 (static display) this winter, but I think I will finish what was started here, the striking thing about the hull (to me anyway) is the pronounced tear drop shape the stern being much wider than the bow.

When searching images traditional scottish trawlers seem to come up as matching the shape of the model from the water line. However, I've not been able to really work out what scale the model is to even begin looking for plans which I can begin thinking about a build.

      The 'trawler' is 38"

Any help would be greatly appreciated

          Sim

I have no idea what the trawler might be but the motor boat / pleasure craft thingy looks to me like a Fairey Spearfish hull and someone on this forum may well like that if you have it for sale.

I am fairly sure there will be other suggestions coming along.

While you are here on the forum, why don't you stick around. Some interesting things happen here from some interesting people.

            Hi

Sports boat looks like a Fairey Huntsman 31.

Sports boat is definitely a 34" 1/11 scale Precedent Huntsman. It will be underpowered with that motor.

Thank you so much, I knew I could trust a form to help!

I will be selling the pleasure craft for certain as I won't be using it for RC and doesn't really hold much fun in building it, I prefer more complex and detailed builds.

I may well stick around, I also have rescued (Must be something to do with living in Devon) a Martua HMS victory from the tip, which I will one day get around to building, maybe in my dotage.

And yes the motor does look rather small about the same size as the Billing Pilot boat I built when I was a teenager!

Thanks again, I hope someone can help with the other one!
