        Hi, has anyone heard of liquid solder….if so is it still possible to buy it

          yup, they are an adhesive, alternative to molten soldering, and available from lts of engineering firms – and Maplins etc.
           
          I think Permatex is one type, I used them for a while when m/c racing for quick repairs to small metal breakages. I suppose they are akin to liquid metal sold in car body shops.

            I think Tony is referring to Fryolux which is a solder paint with built in flux – very useful for soldering railings. It is not so easy to get as it used to be but you can still buy it although it’s not cheap: See here.
             
            A bottle will last a long time though.

                Hi Solderpaste as mentioned by Colin is used widely in the electronics industry, it is applied to the pcb as a paste screen printed on the surface mount components are layed on to it then passed through a hot air tunnel soldering them in place.
                RS components stock it but as said its not cheap
