single motor for schnellboot 1/35 ?

I have a schnellboot under construction and looking to rc it.

just in the interests of keeping cost and electrickery to a minimum, is is possible to run this with a single motor and prop ?

i'm not looking for a scale build and speed so much as maybe having the odd hour on a canal

A little more information might elicit more response from here, Rob. Which Schnellboot? Whose kit? How big is it (size, not scale)?

Graupner Speed 700 12v version; 12v NiMH pack (or 3S LiPo); 20A brushed motor ESC; 40-45mm 3-blade prop.

If I were building it then it would have a brushless motor and ESC. They don't bite, you know!
