      Hi you diehards out there.

Does anyone ever remember or being a user of the Simprop 5 Channel Analogue 27Mhz system?

I still have one (Minus batteries) a 5 channel receiver, a 3 channel receiver and circuit boards of one I was building.

I still have the Servos but they have FOUR wires to them not our usual three.

Are these able to be modified for use with modern equipment because they had tremendous torque and were ideal for boats, cars and large aircraft wit bigger than normal surface areas on, elevators, rudders etc.

I have fond memories of Simprop gear, decent in its time. As for modifying the servos, it's technically possible by swapping the amps for modern ones, probably scavenged from new servos.

Practically, forget it, expensive hassle with uncertain results. Just get some decent new gear.

As I remember the fourth wire was for a battery centre tap, which implies that the servo motors are only 2.4v, so I very much doubt if it could be adapted without changing the whole amplifier circuit. Many modern servos are a lot more powerful than your Simprop – which must be at least 40 years old – and I wouldn't recommend using the old ones unless you are building a vintage model using the whole Simprop system.

              Thanks guys.

Yes after posting I remembered that the fourth wire was indeed a center tap from the battery. It was just a thought. I do have modern gear Charles, a Futaba T7C FASST and a Spextrum DX6i, receivers and servos.
