Yes I like plenty of pencils & pens too Neil

Chris goes to the top of the class with the mast shrouds/stays are in the wrong place !! but I have told the skipper he can only use the roof sliding hatch as a vent or fully when the mast is lowered

Another first for me she has nice shiny rubbing strakes, maybe polished stainless or chromed brass ? so I have used a roll of chromed aluminium tape liberated from a site many years ago from the aircon ducting subcontractor, so sliced into 1/16" strips, it's self adhesive and burnishes down nicely

To the Dockyard Model Shop at Chatham to try and buy a suitable plough anchor, Siren & Searchlight, I know it's cheating but the end is in sight

Hi All,

This bow mounted anchor has been troubling me, but I think I may have got away with it, nice commercial white metal plough anchor hanging over the bows through litho plate , not a pretty detail in my view but easier for the crew to handle, rather than having a derek on the bow to put the anchor on the deck ??

Hi All,

With exception of a few details like nav lights & flag staff on the stern & painting the copper rigging silver, I'm calling it a day with Shandau, next time you may see her is in the mag as a free plan the skipper looks happy ! On to flying projects now Lockheed U2 on the drawing board glider for the slope when the wind blows and with electric ducted fan for when it doesn't, Duxford tomorrow for photos of the real thing up there

Another excellent model Ray. I did have thoughts on building a plane but have shelved that idea for the time being. A neighbour keeps offering to teach me to fly but I keep resisting!

Next boat will be the broads cruiser we have booked for May Herbert Woods "Delight" 40' X 12" should make a nice subject at 1/12th scale

Yes the old Tupperware box but ply & balsa will do the job just like my Freeman 22 which was a GRP boat.

Hi All,

Shandau has been sat on the unit in the lounge for almost a year as an ornament , I have been in hiding for a while ! but now I’m back in full swing with her as a design and article for the magazine in a few months 🙂

Testing went well yesterday at our club lake at Bluewater, camera battery flat ! so no otw shots yet 🙁
