A little while back I asked the readers to assit me in searching for photgraphs and plans of the Clan Class ships which included the S A Seafarer.
Well I was quite amazed from how far afield pictures came to my website. However the plans did not materialse. Then I tried a different angle when I researched the Greenock Ship Building Company. This took on an entire new dimension when I found out that the works were taken over by another ship building company and when it closed down all the records were transfered to the University Of Glasgow.
Now this was the jackpot, as it turned out that the take over company did not do away with all of Greenock’s ships plans but kept them. These were also amongst the records at the University. After six years of searching I finally recieved the last plan I was looking for and it arrived at my house at the begining of May.

My simple message is this; thank you all who helped with information, pictures and plans. If you really want to build a particular ship, NEVER EVER GIVE UP the search. Some of my research of the ships I have built have taken even longer than 6 years.

      Regards to all,
      Bernhard
ps: there is only one small thing, I can’t build it now until I have the other two projects off my bench.

          Hi B.B
Clearly you are blessed with a lot of patience. Very important in our hobby.
But more than 6 years of waiting. is probably a bit more than my patience is about to willingly accept.
Based on what I‘ve seen of your models B.B. I think that the little thing that prevents you from starting the project.

. Are probably two fairly large models.
Not little things. Am I right? The models are beautiful and look very credible on the water.
Is curious about the two projects you have on the bench.
            Best wishes from Norway
            Ole
