What is the purpose of the recess in the top of the superstructure on a Perkasa? I have never found an answer to this question. The constructional article in September Model Boats does not indicate any details contained therein. Is it an open-to-the-elements-bridge? The cabin mouldings suggest a fully enclosed one below. Rick

          Hi Rick

In common with small British warships of the period the Vosper had an open bridge and an enclosed helmsman position, the open bridge gives better visability (lifeboats such as the Trent and Severn also have such layouts)

Thanks for the info. and the pictures. It would seem strange that the kit reviewed this month lacks any details for this prominent spot.
            Rick.

              Hi Rick

Yes it is a shame that the kit on review hasn’t got a detailed bridge but to be fair to Dave Abbot he does say that the kit has some scope for extra detailing in this area.
The kit itself looks very good and perhaps would make an excellent prize for one of Colins competitions.
