Hi All, just got my new batteries for the fairmile. 12 D cells at 11amp. I have made them into 2 7.4 packs , found some pre tinned copper ribbon on fleabay rated to 35 amp, so have soldered the together and they are on a trickle charge overnight. they are half the weight of the gell cells so im plenty happy. 4 new crewmembers arrived in the post this morning, from HSL, bringing the crew up to 18. just got to paint em. Steve.

Steve. Stunning mate, simply stunning. Fabulous boat.

Just thought about the batteries, are they "pack" types with soldered tags? Or rechargeables like you would purchase singularly for torches or whatever? I did read that there was a difference in the makeup and discharge rates for the two types, despite being of a high capacity..

They are like the pack type, the minus end isnt raised like a normal battery. but flat. I have cycled them and will give them a fast charge saturday night, see how they perform on sunday.. steve.
