Firstly a well wishing to you all, from ‘Model Yacht Design’,
Those of you who remember us, of the early to mid 90’s, through various modelling press reviews, and forums – will know we specialise in the production of scale model craft, specifically, of river cruiser sailing yachts and cabin cruisers of the Norfolk Broads, depicting real craft hired through Blakes Boating Holidays etc.

We have been, for some considerable time, working on the production of a real charming little cabin cruiser of the nostalgic era in Broadland Boating history, the 1930’s ‘Ring of Light’ class pleasure cabin cruiser, designed by the Broadland Pioneer ‘Herbert Woods’. As with all our projects, we are proud to say we know our broadland craft and those with lovely lines, and of their original detail, so you’ll be seeing accuracy in ”Ring Of Light’.

As with the Broads Yachts and Dinghies we brought out until 1996, this little lady will be an eye catcher.

Designed for two channel R/C, with an easy to handle respectable 1:16 Scale [under 3 foot LOA], She will be supplied with a number of GRP mouldings [hull, split level decking, fwd and aft cabins and the cockpit canopy], all fittings, pre-cut Mahogany veneers to overlay mouldings where needed, rudder assy, motor and running gear, highly detailed and ‘easy-build’ step by step building instructions on CD Rom, or printed for those that desire. The history and photos of the lifesized vessel will be included.

Delivery timings – We are aiming to have the prototype out and tested, and advertised around April 2012, with the production line out as soon as, following that timescale.

If the lines of traditional nostalgic era river cabin cruisers is your love, then please take a browse at our website http://www.modelyachtdesign.com , which will contain all the detail, updates and photos of the model, and I [Paul], would be truly delighted to hear from anyone interested in the production line kits, wihch you can easily contact me through our website.

Our kindest regards to you all out there,

        Paul & Nicola
