My short foc’sle Corvette

I
have built a modified Flower Class Corvette in 1:72 scale, which is my second build of the kit.
It is converted to a “short forecastle Corvette” and is based on the Revell kit.
It is of course RC equipped so that I can use it when I´m in the mood .

I used plans on K 39 Hydrangea I found on the web and some photos of her and the sister ships.

It´s not pure scale but as I will not compete with it I´m satisfied with it.

A little bit of paint now so ….. But I haven´t found any good documentation on what camouflage the early Corvette´s used.

I have painted it now, it took two days to get it as I wanted it ….

I painted it as HMS Begonia (66 K) in a camouflage I found in a book:

 

From above you can see the 4 “-gun and the wooden deck:

I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, I got some details left to do on it. Then I “just” have to install the speed controller and receiver and it’s ready to escort my friends ships against the horrors of the pond. 😀

I have a couple more boats to show soon….

This one is almost completed now, I have been detailing it now and adding ropes, blocks, people, anchors and a lot more small bits and pieces. I have also had it in the bath to check how much lead i had to add (and thats a LOT) I use a Robbe 6v 5Ah lead battery and I still had to add almost 600 grammes of ballast!
I now think that a heavy speaker in the bottom wouldn´t hurt at all .
With a bit of luck I can test sail her next weekend  .
