OK

Did anyone else sign up for the free issue of M.Boats in the July issue.

I was told that I would receive the August issue before it went into the shops , I am Still waiting !

At the same time I took out a 3 month trial also stating that I would recieve them before the shops.

I did too like you I am still waiting. Dont hold out for it though.I think it was a ploy to get you to sign up.Cant see anyone giving anything away for free these days.I think the magazine should investigate whats happening. I will probably go and buy one as I dont want to ruin my collection and cant be bothered to order back dated issues

Well If I don’t get it within the next week I will be instructing my bank to cancel the DD under the Direct Debit Indemnity Rules as they have not supplied the Goods as specified.

Think Model boats need to look into this as it does not paint a good picture for them…

(I know its probably a third party but I assume they are acting for Model Boats)

as far as I can remember it was a model shop promoting it.Cant think which one and my last months mag is with my mate as we swap over.(he buys a different one) Luckily I didnt take them up on their subscription offer but did ask for the free mag which I was told I would receive in about 4 wks. I wonder how many people took them up?Its will probably cost them a few bob in postage let alone the cost of the mags reqd.

Thanks Colin.

THe DD which was taken on the 14th July was by MAGICALIA PUB LTD.

They never menchaned 4 weeks , However , the Subscription £11.55 Included postage for 3 mags

cheers colin and thanks for bringing the subject up long build, all I did was phone the number in the mag and gave them name etc. and the code in the mag.It was on a pull out supplement will keep eye on this thread keith

Copies of the August issue will be sent to you both tomorrow morning (Friday) and the reason why you have not already received them is being investigated.

However, could I just say that airing the problem on the Forum is not the most effective way of dealing with subscription issues as I have no direct involvement in that side of the business. There is an email address which you can use to make enquiries printed on the contents page of the magazine itself: [email protected] or if the issue is still unresolved try [email protected]

You can also telephone the subscriptions department on 08456 777 807 (UK subscribers)

All the contact emails and phone numbers are listed on the magazine contents page and you can also find most of them here on the website.

Not saying that I am tight but I begrudge paying call charges in this case 2p min +6p set up fee !! , I did try to contact their number but nobody answered.

However I understand your position Colin and your help has been appreceated.

This has now been investigated and the situation is that both your applications just missed the latest scheduled “label print run” which determines the issues to be posted for that month. The applications were therefore carried over to the following month.

Like all magazines, Model Boats has a planned distribution schedule and the cut off dates can be earlier than some people appreciate as monthly magazines have quite a long lead in time.
