I purchased the plans for the "Lowestoft Herring Drifter" in 1970 along with a plan for a Northumbria Fishing Cobble. The photos are the results of the past six months work.
Plank on frame covered with bandage, then car body filler giving a strong hull. I enlarged the plans by a quarter to give a nice sized model. It was hand painted, seven coats inside and out, lined and lettered. My wife made the sail and I made everything else except running gear. The propeller was purchased in 1944, the year I left school to start work (quite a while ago!) at age 14. The registration number 685 is the last three digits of my RAF service number.
Just one more plan left, the Fishing Cobble, it will keep me busy in the coming year.
