Lipo help

Hi All , I have just made the change from a brushed center motor a bought a brushless motor for my Perkasa and am thinking of buying my Lipo bat from Comp Shop this weekend at the Blackpool show . It may a couple of months or so before the boat is finished painted and ready for the water . Is there a shelf life with these bats or is it best to buy them once the boat is ready to sail.
