Do you have any experience of Araldite over longer periods? I”ve seen examples that have deteriorated in around 10 yrs.

Interesting the article – especially the clock wheel – many thanks!

I have a U.S cavalry fort my dad made for me in 1964  “Fort Ash”  i  named it, in biro on the front), beech “logs” held together with Araldite, and its STILL repelling Indians. No probs.

Depends on which type of Araldite. The slow setting stuff should last indefinitely if not subjected to excessive heat.  I think the fast setting type 5 minues etc. is not quite so long lasting. But it does of course depend on you mixing the two elements correctly in the first place to get full strength.

Neil probably uses it to keep his teeth in…

on a serious note though, i actually never use araldite. have always used the liquid two part epoxy’s that the aircraft lads use in bottles…and have never had any problems with deterioration  or degredation.
however i DO use the better quality types such as DEVCON or  ZAP.

i do find though that even with these they do have a shelf life, and towards the end of it, they don’t set and cure as hard as when the bottles are new.

not like me to be serious especially when i’ve just come back off me ‘olls.
