This model was brought in to the North West Model Shipwrights Society last Saturday by the chairman. The amazing thing about it, is the fact that it was built in two or three months from scrap material found in various skips. The hull is POB, plated with old Ikea blinds (the wood slats). It is fitted with radio control, but he does not intend to sail it. Having finished it, he declares no further interest in it, as the pleaure was in the building!

Thanks for this post. It sort of gives me the kick that I need to complete my unfinished, 1 star, beginners boat design (Tiddler tug) that has now taken almost 15 months to build. And I've even bought a few of the fittings!!

Phil. You are not alone in dragging on a build! I always find that the big bits (Hull, running gear. superstructure) whizz along and then you either stall on something fiddly or the grind of all the little things gets to you and the work slows….

I try to make it a point not to sail anything before its finished (apart form the usual bath test) as, as soon as its in the water..in my minds eye it is done, and I start something else!!|
