      Hi all .
I’m Scott and a regular on the model flying forum. I’m wanting to get back into boats again this year but can’t find many sites dedicated to fast electrics or even second hand vessels. I’m wondering if anyone can show me in the right path . looking to buy by the end of january and my budget is £400 for a decent boat.

      Kindest Regards
      Scott Finnie

          Hi Scott,

If you are in to competitive fast electrics then take a look at the Model Power Boat Association site: **LINK**

          Regards,

          Colin

Hi Scott. I'm in a similar position.

I've been flying and building aeroplanes for some time but after a less than stellar start to 2014 (nothing disastrous but some annoying failures) I decided to go back to model sailing boats. I built and raced a 1 metre yacht about 20 years ago and I'm now building a 1/24 scale Thames sailing barge. I haven't up dated my build log for a while but it is progressing in fits and starts as I learn how to do jobs through error and trial Error seems to be predominant but eventual success seems to happen. My build log is in the scratch build section if you're interested. I really must up date it soon.

I've still got the flying bug I think because I've just acquired another heli. A V912 brushless one but still fixed pitch rotor – I haven't dared to venture into a collective pitch aerobatic job and I doubt I will. It's my birthday tomorrow and my 3/4 century reactions aren't up to it

                      Geoff

I have also found that my reaction time has reached the point where I daren't fly fixed pitch (never mind collective pitch) anymore but I am now getting into quadcopters, not as hair raising to fly but surprisingly good fun.

I have often thought about building a Catalina but never seemed to get around to it and now its probably to late.

Paul, if you haven't already, get a V911. They're cheap as chips, weigh around 30 grams, and great fun to fly indoors. The V912 is similar but a lot bigger/heavier and, hopefully, will cope with wind outside. I've done a mini test flight in our lounge but it's an old cottage with low beamed ceilings and small rooms so it's bit too restricted. I fly the V911 in there quite happily, though.

I have a little quad, but it's definitely a no wind or indoor job. No danger of its affecting an airliner

                            Hi Geoff

I bought myself an F639 and a cute little Dragon Fly. Also working on a frame / mechanics from a Blade 450X that I am slowly rebuilding.

Well that’s one of my 27 aircraft sold my beloved fauvel 1/3 15 foot span. My wife seems to be beginning to look happier! Though im not selling them al . I was flying my raptor 50 heli today though I wasn’t enjoying it as I used to. I visited Edinburgh Model Boat Club yesterday and had a great chat on the pond and different classes. I’ve decided to go down the scale route and have my eyes on something really nice. I’m taking a 4 hour drive to pick it up next Friday. It looks like a cargo/cement carrier ship and I plan to add working bilges, lights, smoke ect before its launch. I shall post a few photos on here once I pick her up . looking forward to it though not looking forward to saying goodbye to the modelflying guys for the year since they’ve been family for the past two years and are a great bunch. Though new year new start. I look forward to chatting to all and possibly meeting a few at events this year. Thank you for the warm welcome

                              Scott
