Generating smoke

This may seem bizarre but has anyone used incense cones to generate fake smoke in a model boat. I think I've got enough room in the top of my tugs funnel for a cone. Disadvantages- heat generated and the fragrant smell

Joss sticks used to be a standard method. Use a brass tube with a vent hole at the bottom and a wire mesh "grate". Probably less heat involved than with a heating element vapourising oil. As for the smell, there is the chance that everybody downwind can go home feeling that little bit happier.

this is my puffer I built . I use incense cones they last about 20 min. i made a copper holder fitted to funnel which is waste pipe. as for smell people just laugh when I tell them.

I have found some more photos of how I made it.

these are what I use.

this is what I made from 15 mm cooper pipe soldered a flat piece on bottom holes in side

this is how it lights, then just glows after flame dies down

flame just goes up funnel and out stays cool on funnel

Excellent David, that's given me some ideas. I've ordered an 8mm copper end cap and hopefully this will fit inside the top of my funnel and act as a tray for my incense cone.

I have used a smoke unit from a 1:10 scale model tank cost about $10.00 dollars australian.from C that very big country.just north of us .

I use Liquid Paraffin you can it on your skin or drink it !!
