I thought you might also like to see my Freelance RFA, based on the "Rover Class".
Built on the "Hal Harrison" principle, balsa floor for hull, ply bulkheads, balsa stringers/strengtheners and thick card. I made a small caulking gun and filled every gap inside hull, around bulkheads and stringers. Covered in bandage and car body filler, the hull has nine coats of paint to make it waterproof inside and out, making it a strong construction. People think it's fibreglass.
All lights work including landing lights and helicopter.
It is powered by a Pittman motor, which can run on 12v, 18v or 24 Volts. I run it at 12v turning a 3" propeller. I have just turned 90 and my wife thinks I have built enough models…she could be right!!
