hi guys

where can I get a receiver ect (as it come with nothing else)for the transmiter.also it it is 2.4GHZ and seems to be set up for planes (as stated by booklet).I alway thought boats and planes had to use seperate frequencies.

Wayne,

It is a 2.4Ghz set so it can be used for any type of model (separate frequencies only applied to the old crystal controlled sets.)

Planet receivers are widely available from model retailers such as Cornwall Model Boats and Howes Models etc. Just Google Planet Radio Control.

Just about all handbooks describe use for model flying purposes as that is where the bulk of the market is. It doesn't mean that you can't use them for boats as well.

do you know if there is a electronis speed controler with this set up as I usualy run using 7.6+V batteries and the receiver only uses 6V.or will it run most standard speed controlers

I'm not specifically familiar with Planet gear but I imagine you could use any standard speed controller with a battery elimination circuit (BEC) if you want to power the receiver through the controller and just have the one battery.

is this the site .I did a seach and this seems to be the only usefull one http://www.action-electronics.co.uk

now I have to rethink what else I can add to the ship.but I cant find weather the planet receiver will run a standard electronic speed controler or servos

Yes, the Planet RX will run standard speed controllers and servos just like all the other mainstream R/C gear.

When you buy your receiver, just ask the supplier what they recommend.
