Installing two Mtroniks Viper 25s into a boat with two 600 motors was easy enough but getting them to work properly was not. Following the ESC instructions I removed one of the red wires and linked everything up only to find that one motor only operated and when I changed the ESCs over, the other motor worked but not the first. I am using a Y lead for connection to the receiver and have checked all wiring. Something's wrong somewhere but what?

So the same ESC works both motors, but the other ESC works neither?

If so, have you tried each ESC on it's own, with both motors individually (takes the Y lead out of the equation).

It sounds as if one ESC is faulty, it does happen.

Thanks Kip. I carried out your suggestion and found that both ESCs are fine so reinstated the Y lead and tried again. At first the same problem arose but I finally tracked the culprit down. It seems one of the two batteries was not producing sufficient power despite reading OK without a load. Once that had been changed the two motors ran well so I'm hopeful all is now operational. Next step is to sail the boat.
