As it says in the title. Looking for references to any books etc with info anf pictures of early TB's and destroyers ie turn of the 20th century. I've got "Warrior to Dreadnought" which has a couple of tantalising pics but more is needed.

      Cheers

      Bob

          Hi Bob,

Sounds like you need to get a copy of David Lyon's book 'The First Destroyers'. You can find it here or in many other places either new or secondhand.

Bob. Great subject. Very tricky as a radio control job due to the extreme narrowness and lack of draught, and very fast if suitably overpowered. Good book, comes with a plan of Velox in the rear cover (I think this the book Colin means)

I like the costal motor torpedo boats from the first war and often thought of building one, the attraction is way the curved deck blends into the hull.

Got my copy of the book on Monday (£8.00 + p&p Amazon). Brilliant and exactly what I was looking for. Thanks v much Colin! The Velox drawing came as a very pleasant surprise as I hadn't seen Ashley's post. I agree that they are very attractive boats and I certainly intend to have a go at building one.

                Happy New Year
