While strolling the dog around Minehead harbour today (not a regular thing unfortunately) Between being blown of my feet and being soaked by the spray over the harbour wall I photographed this collection of boats that while slightly different do appear to be of the same generic type. Does anyone know anything about the type. They have a distinct cruiser style stern and although all sport an inboard look as though they where perhaps originally designed for sail. The case of the yorkshire coble springs to mind, while the design was initially oar powered most are now fitted with motors.
The charter bit I know paul! its the origins of the hull design I’m after I’ve got a hunch that its based on a traditional possibly local style the mary ellen and her sister craft were according to the harbour master at minehead bought by their current skipper new especially for charter and are grp on wood construction however the inspiration for the design escaped him. the Homewood aint nowhere near finished Bob its turning into a real longterm project six months so far have a look at the next post on that thread you may well beable to make a suggestion for my latest idea
