As an engineer and electronics teacher I was curious as to the difference between Analog and Digital servos. My conclusion is
      All servos are digital
      or
      All servos are Analog

      Not both

I will be interested in your comments goto Digital v Analog
to see full details of my argument.

The article has been rewritten having received detailed information from another forum.

The IC in a analog servo compares voltages whereas digital IC compare numbers. Obvious really but could not find anything written about it until now.

A very informative and well-written website; this should be compulsory reading for anyone operating a sailboat with a winch. Thanks too, Tony, for the research into digital servos – it’s saved me the job!
