I’ve started this thread to allow members to alert us to any useful bargains they have come across which may be useful to model boaters.

 

Just to kick off:

 

Maplins currently have a solder station on promotion for just £14.99.(saving £15) I bought one of these during a price reduction some time ago and it has been a really good buy.

Also from Maplins is a NiMH AA/AAA battery charger with Negative Delta Peak Detection and an LCD screen. It is particularly suitable for recharging Hybrid batteries which are not quite so tolerant of high charge currents as standard NiMH cells. Again, it costs £14.99 (saving £10) including 4 AA Hybrid cells. Mine arrived today!

i noticed a product in a tiling shop yesterday…….a pack of 500 x 2.0mm plastic tubes about 50mm long………… used as tile spacers…..ideal for stanchions of the naval rod  type…..2 quid plus vat.

 

i suppose available in most tiling retailers.
