Quite a few model cars which travel on the water have been featured in the magazine recently. On Discovery Channel, Wheeler Dealers, Mike and Edd, will be buying and restoring a full sized 1967 Amphicar.

You are quite right about the amount of work required, but what a lovely finished car/boat. It was interesting to see the boat inspector had to come and inspect numerous items on the car before it could be used on the water. This was good to see as not only is the safety and lives of the occupants of concern, but the safety and lives of others (including the rescue service personnel).

The model version was featured in the January 2005 Model Boats magazine. Item written by Bob Hinton, who recently built the Gibbs Aquada amphibious car model featured in the March/April/May magazines.
