DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW THE RANGE THESE TRANNYS WILL TRANSMIT . WE AT WINDERMERE SAILING ON THE LAKE HAVE A VAST EXPANSE OF WATER AVAILABLE ,WHAT IS CONSIDERED A SAFE DISTANCE ? AND ARE ALL MODEL 2.4 TRANNYS THE SAME WITH THE SAME RANGE

I have one of the cheap (US$32) Hobby King 2.4 Ghz radios, although it has 6 channels, and its range is excellent. As Len said, if you can see the model the Tx will work it.

I also have a cheapo Esky 6 channel 2.4ghz radio. It is so good I have bought 10 extra receivers for it and fitted them in all my boats. I have completely ditched 27 and 40 meg

and have now just the one Tx for all.

The range is excellent and I can control even my fast brushless powerboats nearly out of sight (And sometimes out of sight too )

Most of the lads in our club are changing over and are buying the Planet radio which works very well, totally recommended (But not for Subs )
