I saw this and thought of Bob and his little altercation when driving Slo Mo 2 on the pool at Haydock.

          Hello Paul

How yer doin` my mate…….Long time no see, eh?

I`m still in the doldrums regarding a new build, but fancy making something soon

I`m hoping the Ellesmere show may inspire me, in March or the Northern Model show in Middleton, Manchester, may do the trick…..End of this month

That incident at Haydock was a storm in a teacup……..But it mushroomed into a major incident!

I notice on your YouTube post that the crackpot with the nautical missile had the entire lake to himself………For good reason!

The crazy demo was very impressive and just shows how battery powered boats have finally caught up with the IC Boys!

It reminds me of the old Woodvale shows where Jan Coulins flew his Pulsejet powered ali delta wing plane at 300 mph!…….Which was equally impressive, but very dangerous too

Hope to see you at Ellesmere

          All the best………Bob

You could say "impressive German engineering"?

As a contrast, here is the way the Brits go about trying to make a boat go fast: **LINK**

              …and finally succeeding: **LINK**

A couple of words sprang to mind, Ashley, but this is a family-friendly forum (as Admiral Bishop regularly has to remind me). My colleague Steve Dean has a snarling beast with which he is hoping to beat that same record. I haven't seen it run but it looks insanely fast – and unsurprisingly similar to the one on the video. The motors are hand-wound and were £400 each, while the price of the speed controllers would get you a suite in a Park Lane hotel……

Bob wouldn't like one; there's no wheels.

                  Hello Bob

Nice to see you back on board, there must be a nugget of an idea for the next build bouncing around inside your head.

I didn't think that a model boat could go so fast and survive the experience.

To take Daves comment about wheels and give it some spin (wink) you could build an amphibian.

                  Paul

Both Ryan and I will be at Ellesmere

I can't believe the model was travelling at 140mph

How did that black box calculate the speed?
