Just fitted a wee ammeter twixt Batt and Esc flat out X 3 motors in the bath and showing around 25 amps .As the motors are each fused at 16A can I assume this Reading is the Sum of all 3 motors

      Thanks

If the ammeter is between the battery and everything else, it is reading the total load. If all 3 motors are running, yes, it is the sum of all three motors. Plus whatever is being powered off the battery. 25A for the lot indicates about 8-9 amps per motor.

              Empire.

You may find that the actual sum total of amps consumed by the model is LESS when out of the confined space of the home test-tank (assuming you are not a millionaire and have a luxury sized test-tank), as the motors will rev out a bit more when the boat is going along and so the load is slightly less (if you were worried about being close to the ESC limit or whatever).

Thanks Ashley I did wonder about that due the considerable turbulance I'll try it in my Pond when I get time and confirm the readings

Ashley as usual didn't quite grasp your ref to bigger water .I was thinking just the turbulence in a bath where in fact guess you meant the boat moving as opposed to holding it back .Anyway just tried a holding trial in my pond and of course same results as the bath enlightened Thanks again

I constructed a new removable deck with a vertical wooden post. I strapped a voltmeter and ammeter to the post with a strong elastic band (there were holes in this new deck to enable the connections to the meters) and used a camera to video the meter readings – looked a bit strange but it worked !!

This low-priced little gizmo is small enough to fit into the model and will record maximum values of volts, amps and watts. I have a larger version of the same thing which will go up to 100A (from the same supplier),

Ha! brilliant would be even easier with my wee one alternates twixt Volts and amps
