Can anyone tell me if this yacht is of a particular Class of Pond Yacht, Here are a few measurements
Hull Length 49.2" 125cm, Width 8" 20cm, Mast 60" 152.5cm, Boom 26" 66cm The waterline is about 2.5" 6.5cm from the deck.
The Main Sail 51 x 56.5 x 23" Jib Sail 49 x 13 x 51"
If this is pond yacht does not fit any Class measurement rule does it represent any class?

Hi Mike,

The length of the yacht suggests it may be a Marblehead. The key class rules are that the hull length is 50 inches +/- 1/4 and the sail area is no more than 800 sq inches. From a rough calculation your sail area seems much more than this, more like 900 sq inches. The acknowledged expert in these matters is Russell Potts of the Vintage Model Yacht Group. If it was intended for free sailing, it could have been one of the variants of the M class from yesteryear. There were those around who felt that a bit more sail would be a good thing. It would probably rate OK as a Marblehead with a "legal" rig, but would not be competitive against more modern boats.
