Hello fellow boaters
New to the eletric bit about model boats.
Not new to ic boats, and have dabbled a bit with electric but now i have a question.
I have a 38 inch planning type hull model that i will be usung as a rescue boat for my i c stuff incase of emergency or breakdown etc, plus a bit of messing about on the river.
What i want to know is what motor to use ?
I have the coice of two motors in my vast collection of modelling stuff, both motors are in very good condition, and hardly used.
1st motor is a MFA Barracuda. 6 to12 volt
2nd motor is a Decaperm what i believe to be 12 volt .
Now the MFA is twice the weight i know, but what is the best motor to use ?
The Mfa can swing a 70mm x type prop, but im not sure whast the decaperm can swing and what revs that would do ?
are both similar for power ? and knowing the decaperm is 2.75-1 reduction would that allow a big prop as well ?
The battery will be a 12 volt 5amp sealed lead acid,
what would give the best performance ?
this below is the boat
