Oddly enough whilst having a rummage in the draws, as you do, I just happen to find the other day the cover and free insert from a 1975 “model boats” magazine (price 35p) featuring BOBBY ..
I noted a MacGregor 1+1 was used in the prototype, powered by an orbit 705 with an x35 prop and 4x SAFT 1.2v cells.
It says the orig hull design was featured in “radio control models and electronics” in 1963,
Still going strong, eh? as one would expect from a Vic Smeed original design i suppose.
