      I was looking on Ebay and came across a link to this video. I was very impressed with the performance of this boat.
      Hope the link works but if not search Tracker 47.

          Very nice model, good performance, very adequate without being ridiculous.

          Bit noisy perhaps?  but who cares. i could have fun with that, no problems.

          Good value I think, those MFA hulls. A reasonable size the Tracker , able to accommodate all sorts of motors and a decent size battery. Performance of that specimen I would say on par or even a bit faster than my MFA Seahawk, which has a bog standard 850 motor and 12v 7Ahr gel battery, and is of slightly smaller dimensions and more than fast enough on our pond. Takes the rough water easily when others are afraid to venture, which is what i like.

            Funny, I sort of had you in mind when I posted this Ashley as I know you have a Fantome. Must say  I am quite tempted by the Tracker now that I have seen what it can do but I expect it will pass!

              Thinking out aloud……..

              If you knew somebody who had an MMB900 motor and a pair of 12volts bat stix and an assortment of big props…..

              ………………Which of these MFA hulls, be most suitabell?

                Hi Bob,

                The short answer is I don’t know, but judging by the video of a Perkasa I have seen with a MMB900 on 18 or 24 volts I would think  any of the big ‘uns would go well- I couldn’t presume to advise you but I bet someone will be able to. That Tracker was described as weighing about 20lb I think, which is hefty, but did have two 12v 3ah lead acid batteries.

                I am building a Lesro Rapier with two 700 motors on 12v each and I think that will fly but I’m interested in all this as my next boat will probably be a Sea Queen- I have the kit sitting on my workshop shelf and I am thinking of twin motors, maybe 900s or may venture into the dark realms of brushless- will need some advice on all of it when the time comes!

                I sense that you are contemplating a new purchase -I await with interest.

                By the way, my video link didn’t work- I simply copied and pasted the You Tube link. What should I have done-anyone?

                  It`s my birthday this month and I just thought something that would take my latest motor stuff might be a good idea

                    Well happy birthday Bob and I hope you get something good. Thanks for the link advice. This is the Perkasa video I was talking about- I suspect it is well known but it gives me a chance to try posting a link

                          Bob, anything other than the tiny one, or the Fantome which really needs to be 2 props unless gas powered, or from a more practical point of view the F is a bit more volumetric to store than the others, shed-wise. However if your turbo 900 is as powerful as we are led to believe, it may be sufficient on its own?

                          Ive said it before, but I rather like the low revving motors on the old F, its rather refreshing after lots of high speed screaming (ha..on most of me other craft..I take no prisoners to scale speed)

                            I was thinking that if Slo Mo doesn`t improve itself……………..I could use the gear in something else…………………..something more sensible!

                            The gear train mod may be the last straw!

                              I cant see smaller higher speed props helping slo-mo personally…they may well work once its going fast but its the getting there thats the problem, …I just cant see smaller props having the bite !!

                              Anyway, you have not finished with the mods yet.

                              Sponson shape;
                              removal of filler between sponsons, and/or LOWERING the filler just to the level of the first small step;
                              different props;
                              removal of fans & watercooling;
                              full width transom flap;
                              splitter plate between props;
                              gearing to increase prop size;
                              gearing to decrease prop size!
                              temporary fillers to alter stern profile;
                              temp filler to alter bottom profile completely (from initial small step to a flat rear end)
                              running with only one battery  ;

                              Thease are all things I would try before selling up.

                                  Not at all Bob! There’s only so much one can say about a video.

                                  I find it all interesting and I can’t bear  to make a public fool of myself again trying  to post a video link!
                                  If you do decide to go down this route, there is a post on another well known forum where a gentleman describes a good performance with an MFA Spearfish and a 900 motor on 15 cells- just food for thought. I should think it practically took off.
                                  I must say I’m tempted by these MFA boats but I must stay strong!
                                  Godd luck with Slo-Mo.
