      Hi All,

I've previously built wooden boats and used Humbrol enamel, but at the moment I'm renovating a Graupner RTR PT 109, im not 100% sure of the Hull material, looks like some mixture of Plastics, glass fibre, So Im wondering if Enamel will be ok. If not Please could you help:

Recommend Paint Type, best place to get it from etc ( it will be on the Water at some point )

      Many Thanks

      Dave

Bearing in mind that any surface, whatever it is made of, needs proper preparation before paint is applied, Humbrol enamel has worked on all of the models that I have ever made that needed paint (starting with the then newly issued Airfix Gladiator).

I like to shoot the plastic items with a layer of Halfords grey primer as an undercoat. So far it has failed to melt any of my models and provides a consistent opaque base layer for the paint pigment to sit on.
