      HI,
Following digging out an old DVD of the 1969 Round Britain powerboat race, I wa simpressed immensely with the Fairey Huntsman 28′ boats, run by the Ford team. Do any plans exist for a model version of these boats, and can any members help, please?
I can be found at [email protected].

      Thanks, Dean

Talk to Paul (fat controller) he has a 4ft model of a huntsman that competed in the BP round Britain power boat race, the boat is called Tigger 2 and has a fantastic tiger paint job.
I dont know why he has never posted any photos of this super model as it looks fantastic on the water…its powered by one of Pauls beloved strimmer engines so it is very fast.

there is a realy good plan on this site that has the correct shaped front ( bow) as some dont, it has all the info to build a nice boat and electic is no problem on big boats these days with nicads and good motors they plane very well.peter

HS93 has a very good point here, there are a number of plans and models being touted around that do not bear any resemblence to the original boat, particularly the 28. I suppose it depends how accurate you want the build, however, the Huntsman has a sharp bow, not one of those rounded bows that appears on some plans available

Well, its white, on a snowy foggy day, perhaps you can just use you imagination!

Thanks for all your replies folks!
                  I now have my plans, from the Hobby shop, what I want to know is this;

the plans are for a single screw and rudder for the model. How difficult would it be, to re mod it, as per the prototype, ie; twin screw and twin rudder?

                    Hi Dean,>>

In some respects it is easier to convert to twin screw than
it might first appear. The keel can be left intact and the hull can be
completed and sanded before fitting the prop shafts. Usually I just mark out
the positions, drill a small pilot hole, then using a round file to finish.
Support the shafts inside with a piece of triangular ply. Then it just remains
to add twin rudders, and suitable motor mounts. Then with twin motors, probably
two 700 types would be nice in the 1/8 version, it leaves you with the option
to have two speed controllers or a mixer. Hope that helps. >>

does snyone have any advice on how to achieve this on my Fairey Huntsman?
The original plans are for single screw and rudder, but I want to model the original prototype.
