      Hi I’m looking for ideas on how to do the electrics on a radio controlled bait boat, I have bought the hull complete with deck, hopper and weed guard. Would I need to ballast the boat?

      The boat is made of fibreglass, and is also black gelled for the waterproofing. I may need to fitt ribs in the boat to support the motor and possibly put another deck in support any other electrical bits.

        hi darren

        i can give you any help you need about bait boats because i have built 2 of my own

        are you going to use the boat on a lake which can become  choppy?

        because if  you are you will need a bit of weight to the boat  and the best way to do this is to have a lead acid battery which are heavier than nicads and they have slow drain so the boat will not just die in the water because the battery has run out

        with the motor  you can just mount it on a small piece of wood  and glue it into the hull with epoxy resin

        i do advise to put a deck for electrics but also put them in a sealed container with a 1/4 hole for the electric wire to come out

        also do you know what electrics to use
