Will be watching this project develop,as I only saw the Jeanie Deans in the background from about the midway stage of the build
I’m sure its going to be a great learning curve for others just starting out in modelling as well as myself,as Bob’s boatyard is full of great models,(sails and electric)

I must say, I`m enjoying life at present

Progress will not be as rapid and chaotic as usual…….with all you lot looking over my shoulder……..(I hope anyway)

Hope your following the build of the Great Eastern……..it won`t be a museum masterpiece……but it should look great when it`s finished

Just sorting out the formers at present and trying out the first pair of planks

Thank you …….Ken Len Peter and Paul…………..Pleased that you are keeping up with the progress. The posting time lag is a pain……….all formers are glued in and the form has been checked with trial planks.

Cutting all that plywood has worn out my stock of cheap bandsaw blades!…….At the moment, the plank shop is out of action!

Hi Bob;

For every comment you get there are ten who remain silent but are watching. I for one am looking forward to following the construction of Great Eastern. I am the slowest modeller in creation and you will probably provide a wealth of information and building tips.

Hi Don………………Thanks for your comments………it`s nice to know there interested parties out there……..and some new faces too.

I may appear to work quickly……but when you consider I often put in 15 hour days….progress is inevitable

There are three planks a side on the hull now……but I`ve discovered I need to raise the hull off the work surface for access the the "Lacky clamps" This is no problem as the hull is quite rigid and easily moved about……..thanks the the main spine.

The plank shop will be open today
